Paver Patio, Seating Wall & Fountain in Orange, California
This backyard renovation brought together a Belgard paver sitting area, custom seating wall, garden pathways, and fountain, with new drainage, irrigation, planting, and infrastructure for future outdoor features.
How We Rebuilt This Orange Backyard
This project was a complete backyard overhaul in Orange, California. Pacific Coast Landscaping rebuilt the space from the ground up, starting with drainage, irrigation, and electrical work before installing the hardscape, fountain, pathways, and planting.
Drainage, Irrigation, and Future Features
We began with an NDS drainage system and an automated five-station sprinkler system with Irritrol valves and a RainDial controller. Completing this work first allowed the new landscape and hardscape to be planned around the systems beneath them.
We also installed a concrete pad and ran electrical for a future spa, added electrical outlets, and poured footings for a future pergola. These preparations give the homeowner the option to add those features without reopening the finished backyard.
A Belgard Paver Sitting Area and Custom Walls
For the main gathering area, we installed Belgard Dimensions pavers in Victorian. The pavers define a comfortable sitting space and provide a durable surface for everyday use.
A long seating wall adds room for guests along the edge of the area. We finished the new wall with stucco and a bullnose cap, then restuccoed an existing garden wall so the two features share a consistent appearance.
Pathways Leading to the Fountain
Decomposed granite pathways guide visitors through the backyard toward a new fountain, which serves as the landscape’s focal point. Plants and mulch finish the surrounding beds, softening the hardscape and bringing the completed landscape design together.
